Friday, March 13, 2020. ReachOut Foundation and Sarang Nanum Community Church (SNCC) re-opened PAUD (Early Childhood Education and Development) Ros Indah Cengkareng, after being rehabilitated by #BantuSekolahYuk program (#BSY).
Ros Indah is the second PAUD, which is rehabilitated by the funding from SNCC. Seogwoo Sun, Senior Pastor of SNCC stated that Bantu sekolah Yuk is an excellent and efficient program that allows individuals and organizations to make a difference in different communities through the schools that they support in those areas. “It is a way to improve the nation through investing on early the children” Sun Said, after re-opening ceremony of PAUD Tunas Harapan, Jatinegara.
Moreover, Sun explained that #BantuSekolahYuk Program aligns to his organization goal. “The decision to help the two schools is based on the fact that we are to love our neighbour as we love ourselves. We want the children to have better places of learning and better quality education as well”. He said.
Meanwhile Imah Khodijah, Principal of PAUD ROS Indah said that she feels grateful for the willingness of SNCC to help her school. “This is a precious gift for us the teachers, we have been waiting for a funding to fix our schools, and train the teachers, Alhamdulillah SNCC wants to make it true. It set fires on our heart” She said.
Beside Teachers of Ros Indah, SNCC and ReachOut , the re-opening ceremony itself was attended by local government and also the representative of Jakarta Early Education Department Board.
“I have heard about #BantuSekolahYuk Program, we’re thankful for ReachOut who initiated this program, and this is not the first school here, it helps us a lot”. Said Puniasih, Representative of Province Early Education Department Board.
Bobby Wibowo, represented SNCC to re-open Ros Indah School, said that the expectation that they have is that there will be strong foundation for the 2 reached schools, to shape the next leaders of Indonesia. “We hope that these two schools will educate the children to be better thinkers and learners, so that in the future they will become individuals who will bring a difference to the nation by loving their neighbours as they love themselves”. He said.
#BantuSekolahYuk was initiated by ReachOut Foundation as an invitation for everybody, organizations or companies to contribute in helping early childhood education in under-privileged areas in Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi). The program identifies schools across the city that covered our set criteria, renovate their existing schools, donate new teaching material, and improve both the quality of the teachers and the curriculum. So Far #BSY has reached 4 schools in Jakarta.
